What is Tee30Golf?
Tee30Golf is like a Men's Shed for golfing Dads. 9 holes of golf in 30 minutes (hence 'Tee30') at Melbourne's most fun public and private courses, followed by a chat about health and wellbeing, often mental health.
Who is Tee30Golf for?
Tee30Golf Dashing Dads is a men's only group. We've curated it for Dads specifically who often struggle with overwhelm and mental health, particularly in the first few years of fatherhood. Our events are designed to fit in with busy work and family lives, usually over a lunchtime on Thursdays.
What if I'm not a Dad?
That's ok. Do you have loved ones you care for? If you are a guy who likes golf, are abundant in your thinking and want to be part of a like-minded community, then you'll fit right in.
Do I need to be a regular golfer to play?
No. Our focus is on fun, fitness and social connection. Many (in fact most) of our members and casual players are sometime golfers who used to love the game and are reconnecting with the sport again.
How does Tee30Golf work?
When you first attend an event you'll fill in some information about you as a person to find out more about your values and interests. We then pair you with another Dad who we think you will get along with. On the day you'll play 9 holes of golf as quickly as possible - usually jogging or running (also fast golf) - alternate shots with your playing partner and then stay for a drink or lunch.
Tell me more about the fast golf element.
I don't have four hours to play on a Saturday morning. I'm sure you don't too. We play speedgolf / cardio golf / fast golf because it encourages fast play, gets you finished quickly and gets the heart-rate up.
Do I need to be fit to play Tee30Golf?
If you can jog 2km you'll be fine. We strongly suggest you warm-up and do a dynamic warm-up beforehand. We will take you through a personal trainer-approved warm-up before each event to prevent potential injury.
How many clubs should I bring?
Bring 3-4 clubs. Depending on the length of the golf course, it could be a Driver or Hybrid, 7 iron, pitching wedge and putter. For shorter courses you could bring a 7 iron, pitching wedge and a putter.
$80 for 9 holes seems pricey. What's the value?
The golf is free. You are paying for the social connection and the people you meet and play with at our events. There is no quality control at most golf / networking events. You usually play with people you have nothing in common with and golf becomes the focus. Connection, community and meaningful conversation our value. Plus, you get to experience some really fun courses at speed.
How do I become a member?
You can attend two events and then we chat about membership. If you are keen we offer you a 12 month subscription to Tee2Green, our online learning community helping to build mental strength and become better dads, husbands and business people. It also includes a golf learning pathway from PGA Golf Pro Sandy Jamieson to help you have more fun and play better. After you attend 4 times you can apply to become a member and we can discuss if it is a right fit.
